Guest Experience

Delaplane Cellars is offering outdoor seating along with continuing curbside pickup.

Safety remains our priority, Delaplane Cellars is following all recommended CDC and Commonwealth Guidelines to ensure safety for both our employees and guests.  

When planning your visit to Delaplane Cellars, please review our policies and procedures below.

The Basics

Delaplane Cellars is currently offering outdoor seating only. Our lower deck is covered by a tent and is enclosed with temporary side walls. The flooring and side walls allow for some airflow through the tent. The tent is also equipped with heaters to keep our guests cozy and warm. Our upper deck has several gas fire-pits and heaters. We also have blankets for our customers who are needing an extra layer to keep warm. There is no guarantee which area you will be seated at, seating is assigned the day of and based on table reservations. You can request certain seating or accommodations when booking your reservation, however we cannot guarantee those requests. 

21+ and Groups
As a reminder, Delaplane Cellars is a 21-and-over winery. 

Groups of 6 of more are required to make a reservation when planning to visit us.  

We are now offering self-pour tastings at your table. 

We are offering sales by the bottle on all wines and by the glass on select wines.

Groups are encouraged to bring their own food/picnics. We do have cheese and meat plate available for purchase.

Delaplane Cellars is open Monday thru Thursday from 11 am to 5 pm and Friday 
from 11 am to 6 pm. Seating during these times will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Saturday and Sunday hours are from 11 am to 6 pm with reservations highly encouraged, but we can accommodate walk-ins when there is available seating.

When we have speical events, Delaplane Cellars will be closing at 3:30 pm on those days. 


Seating is limited and reservations for Saturday and Sunday are strongly recommended. Walk-ins will be accommodated upon table availability.  

Most of our tables will accommodate groups of four (4) and we have some tables that will accommodate groups of six (6). If you would like to book a table for a party larger than six (6), please call us at 540-592-7210 to discuss us being able to accommodate your group. Since we are 21 and over winery, we ask that your reservation count only persons 21 and older. 

Seatings are in three (3) blocks:
11 am to 1 pm, 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm.

Waitlist: Our reservation site does allow you to join a waitlist if the seating block is full. When you join this waitlist, this does not guarantee you table. Unless you are contacted by someone from our staff, please assume that a table did not open up and we are unable to provide you a reservation for your requested time. 

There are no fees or deposits for a table reservations. We do ask that someone from your party is here and seated by 45 minutes past your reservation start time. If someone from your party is not here by that time, we reserve the right to open up your table to another party. (this is a new policy starting on 8/25/2020). If you are going to be late, we ask that you give us a call to ensure we hold your table. 

To help ensure every guest has a great experience, we kindly ask that you vacate your table promptly at the end of your time block. If you would like to stay and continue your enjoyment past your block, we will try to accommodate requests dependent on availability. .

Safety Guidelines

For the safety of our team and customers, Delaplane Cellars Team Members will wear face masks while at the winery. We are asking our customers to assist us in providing a safe environment by wearing a face mask when entering the building.

Our staff will be sanitizing all tables before guest’s arrival. We will continually be sanitizing common touch points throughout the winery on a regular schedule. Our staff members will wash their hands before each guest interaction.

We will be providing hand sanitizer for each table to help increase safety and hygiene.

We ask that each guest come equipped with their own face mask, but in the event that a guest forgets theirs, we are able to provide guests with a face mask. 

Other Policies to Remember

Outside Winer, Beer and Alcohol:
Under no circumstances are you allowed to consume any other wine, beer or alcohol while on Delaplane Cellars property. Not only is it against our policy, it is also against Virginia law.

Our winery, which includes the Tasting Room and outdoor patios and decks are kid-free areas.

We love our furry friends at Delaplane Cellars. But, to be considerate of our other guests, dogs are not allowing inside our Tasting Room or on our decks or patios. Dogs are allowed on property, only if they are kept on leash. We have outdoor picnic tables that are located around the vineyard, which are great areas for you to hang out with your favorite four-footed friends!
